We recommend taking a train to Karlstad from either Stockholm, Gothenburg, or Oslo. The train station is in the city center, and plenty of hotels are within walking distance. Karlstad University is easily accessible by local bus (orange busses, line 1) from the city square in 15 minutes, with frequent departures. Buy tickets with a credit card at the bus stop from machines or in the app (Android/iOS).
